MOTSTORE is based in Kent and as it says in the name, we are
involved with MOT and Vehicle Inspection Industry, set up to promote a safe
environment within the MOT and Garage Industry.
We try to keep our clients ahead of the latest
Health &
Safety requirements listed by the Health & Safety Executive and to keep
employees and the general public safe and injury free.
Having worked in the garage industry for over 40 years,
starting at a Vauxhall main agent and progressing to owning and running my own
garage and busy MOT test centre, as well as helping several other people set up
their own garage businesses. I have seen many preventable accidents happen
within the workshop & garage environment, most of these were probably
preventable, with just a little more thought and very little cost to everyone
involved. Having been an employer subjected to the so called Ambulance chaser
insurance schemes of no win no fee solicitors helping to inflate my next years
insurance quote !!!
With thousands of injuries and over 25 deaths in the last few
years it is no surprise that the Health & Safety Executive are looking very
close at the garage trade in general.

Vehicle movements are a serious risk, particularly in cramped
and busy premises. Falls are very common in busy workshops, with inspection pits
and under raised working platforms and ramps and head injuries also very common
( skin is softer than metal )
Health & Safety Executive personal protective equipment at
work regulations require:
Correct and suitable clothing be supplied by the employer,
especially where moving vehicles are involved and the wearing of High Visibility
waistcoats are strongly advised, with reflective strips.
So our first product we have to offer has been produced to
meet these HSE requirements and also make life a little easier for the vehicle
inspector. The waistcoat has been manufactured with the tester in mind as well
as promoting the garage as a VOSA approved site for the required inspection
test.

It meets the required British standard for high visibility BS

Instead of normal high viz waistcoats, ours is provided with
full length front zipper

2 side pockets with flaps

Tyre tread depth gauge pocket
